The Mead Art Museum houses the Amherst College art collection, a growing selection of ancient and modern oil paintings, sculptures, ceramics, furniture, textiles, glassware, prints and drawings.

The museum’s fine collection of American art includes major works by Copley, Stuart, Cole, Church, Durand, Homer, Hassam and Eakins. The permanent installation also features European prints, Russian modernist paintings and West African art.
